The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering is pleased to host this seminar on Bridging the Industry 4.0 Skills Gap in Malta.

Venue: Lecture Theater 1, Lecture Center, University of Malta, Msida Campus
The advance of Industry 4.0 technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Collaborative Robotics, Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR and VR) has brought about a number of interesting opportunities for industry. That said it has also highlighted a digital skills gap in Higher Education. The aim of the ICARUS project was to develop free resources in terms of a digital training toolbox which can be utilised to target and bridge this skills gap.
This Seminar will present the results of the ICARUS project, as well as highlight some excellent examples of Industry 4.0 technologies being developed and implemented in Malta. It will also provide an interesting opportunity for local stakeholders to discuss and address challenges which they may be facing.
Industrial and Manufacturing Lab Tour
Participants may register for a tour of the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering labs, at the Faculty of Engineering. This is limited to 20 participants on a first come first served basis. Please apply during registration.
Workshop on Industry 4.0 Technologies
A hands-on workshop on Industry 4.0 technologies, including Robotics Simulation, Collaborative Robotics Programming, Internet of Things (IoT), and Cyber Security and Safety will be held between 13:30 and 15:00. This is limited to 20 participants on a first come first served basis. Please apply during registration. Training will be done on the ICARUS mobile training unit illustrated below, using the ICARUS digital training toolbox illustrated below. This is limited to 15 participants on a first come first served basis. Please apply during registration.
